tl;dv vs Fathom

Checked October 24, 2026

Checked October 24, 2026 for tl;dv, on tldv.io/app/pricing, monthly and annual toggles. The cards show dollars. Structured data on that page lists the same amounts in euros. Fathom and Fireflies are quoted from their listings, last checked October 23, 2026.

What the free plan records

tl;dv Free is $0, no card. The card lists unlimited video recordings and unlimited transcription in 30+ languages. AI notes are included on 10 meetings, and Ask AI is included for 10 queries. A weekly guest call fits in the recording. It does not all fit in the AI notes once you pass 10 meetings.

Fathom, from the October 23 listing, is also $0 for unlimited recordings and transcription. Advanced summaries cover the first 5 calls each month, and after that you get the general summary. A new account previews Premium for 30 days. The recording is not the thing that runs out. The longer summary is.

Fireflies.ai Free, from the same day's listing, is $0 with unlimited transcription marked by an asterisk the FAQ does not define, limited AI summaries, 400 minutes of storage for the team, and 20 AI credits. Storage is the cap a long interview hits first.

The first paid seat

tl;dv Pro is $29 per seat per month billed monthly, or $18 per seat per month billed annually. That plan removes the cap on meetings with AI notes, includes unlimited single-meeting Ask AI, and lists unlimited uploads and storage. Business is $39 per seat billed monthly, or $29 billed annually, and that card says no usage-based AI fees. Business is where multi-meeting AI insights start. Enterprise is custom.

Fathom Premium is $20 per user per month, or $16 billed annually, for one person. That plan is the unlimited advanced summaries. Team is $19 per user billed monthly, or $15 annually, and it requires two users. Fireflies Pro is $18 per seat, or $10 billed annually, with 8,000 minutes of storage per seat. The Fathom vs Otter page is the other call comparison, with Otter's 30-minute free cap.

Which call should open which app

A solo host with one guest a week, who wants the free recording to keep the whole call: both free plans do that. Fathom's advanced summary runs out on the sixth call of the month. tl;dv's AI notes run out on the eleventh meeting. If you only need the transcript, tl;dv Free does not meter it. If you want the longer summary every week, Fathom Premium is the cheaper annual seat, at $16.

A team that asks questions across a pile of calls: tl;dv Business, or Fireflies once the storage on Free is the problem. None of these write the show notes. The Best AI tools for podcast show notes page is that next job. The Transcription and show notes list includes the file transcribers, for an episode you already exported.

Questions

Does tl;dv Free transcribe a two-hour interview?

The free card lists unlimited transcription and unlimited video recordings. AI notes are a separate cap, at 10 meetings. A two-hour call can be transcribed. It counts as one of those 10 if you want the AI notes.

Which free plan gives more AI notes?

tl;dv includes AI notes on 10 meetings. Fathom's advanced summaries cover the first 5 calls a month, and later calls get the general summary. They are not the same note. Read one of each before you decide the cap is the only difference.

Why does tl;dv's pricing page mention euros?

The plan cards show dollars: Pro at $29 or $18, Business at $39 or $29. Structured data on the same page lists those amounts in euros. The numbers match. The currency label does not.
