A plugin and a transcript

AutoPod runs inside Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve. The Multi-Camera Editor switches shots from separate mics, up to 10 speakers. The Jump Cut Editor removes silence. The Social Clip Creator makes 1920x1080, 1080x1350, and 1080x1920 sequences from an in and out point. You already have the timeline. AutoPod is the first pass on it.

Descript is the timeline. You record or import, then cut by deleting words. Filler removal, Studio Sound, captions, and a rough clip pass sit in the same project. It does not ask you to own Premiere. A remote guest can record into it, within the plan's recording hours. The Descript vs Riverside page is the comparison when the missing piece is the guest's local track, not the multicam cut.

What the invoice is for

AutoPod is one Individual license at $29/month. Monthly billing includes a 30-day trial. Annual billing includes one month free, and the pricing page does not print the yearly total. There is no ongoing free plan. One license activates on one computer. Premiere Pro 2023 or newer is the requirement they name. Resolve is available from the same key. Final Cut Pro and Avid are not.

Descript Free is 1 media hour a month and a watermarked 720p export. Hobbyist is $16/month billed annually ($24 month-to-month) with 10 media hours. Creator is $24/month annually ($35 monthly) with 30 media hours. You are paying for the editor. AutoPod assumes you already pay for Premiere or Resolve.

The recording that fits neither brief

AutoPod's own FAQ says the multicam editor needs multiple cameras and separate audio tracks. A solo talking head, or a mixdown with one mic, will not drive the speaker cuts. That recording is Gling's job: a desktop app that cuts silences, bad takes, and fillers, then exports an MP4 or, on a paid plan, XML back to Premiere, Final Cut, or Resolve. Free is 1 hour a month, watermarked, with no XML.

Use AutoPod when the episode is already a multicam timeline and the dull hour is the angle changes. Use Descript when the episode is still words on a page and the host does not live in Premiere. Use Gling when the picture is one person and the first job is deleting pauses. The Best AI tools for filler words page is that last case in more detail. The Podcast editing list is the rest.

Questions

Does AutoPod work on a solo podcast?

Not the multicam editor. AutoPod says it needs multiple cameras and separate audio tracks, and it says a single speaker is out. The Jump Cut Editor can cut silence, but the product is aimed at a multicam show. A solo video is a better fit for Gling or Descript.

Can I try AutoPod without paying $29?

Monthly billing starts with a 30-day free trial. There is no ongoing free plan. The trial is the window to run it on a real episode in Premiere or Resolve.

Which one exports a timeline to Premiere?

AutoPod never leaves Premiere or Resolve. Gling's paid plans export XML to Premiere, Final Cut, and Resolve. Descript can hand a timeline to Premiere on the plans that include that export. AutoPod is the one that starts there.
