Checked October 25, 2026

Checked October 25, 2026 for Jellypod, on jellypod.com/pricing, and for Podscan, on podscan.fm/pricing. Descript is quoted from its listing, last checked October 18, 2026. Jellypod's cards show annual billing and do not print a month-to-month price.

Generate the episode, or cut the one you recorded

Jellypod writes and voices the episode. Free is $0, no card, with 500 one-time credits. You can create and preview. You cannot render, publish, share, or download. Starter is $25/month billed yearly as $300, for 5,000 credits a month. Creator is $50/month billed yearly as $600, for 11,000 credits. Business is $125/month billed yearly as $1,500, for 30,000 credits. A 7-day trial asks for a card, includes 3,000 credits, and watermarks the export. Narration is 30 credits a minute, so the page prices a 10-minute audio episode at 300 credits. The FAQ says you own what you create.

Descript, from the October 18 listing, is the editor for a file you already have. Free includes 1 media hour a month and a watermarked 720p export. Hobbyist is $16/month billed annually ($24 month-to-month) with 10 media hours. Creator is $24/month annually ($35 monthly) with 30 media hours. You record or import, then cut by deleting words. It does not invent the interview.

The research desk beside either of them

Podscan searches episodes other people already published. A 10-day trial is $0 and does not ask for a card. Premium is $100/month, or $1,000/year, with 50 alerts and 2,000 API requests a day. Professional is $200/month, or $2,000/year. Advanced is $2,500/month. The Advanced card says up to 50 members per team. The comparison table on the same page says those members are unlimited. A verified company domain can get brand monitoring at no charge. A Day Pass is $20 for 24 hours. A Research Pass is $50 for 72 hours.

Use Podscan when the job is who to pitch, or whether a name was said on someone else's show. It does not host your episode, and it does not write it. After the trial, alerts and the API stop until you pay.

Which job you actually have

No recording, and you want a voiced episode plus a host: Jellypod. Free will not hand you the file. Starter is the first plan that distributes to Spotify, YouTube, and Apple Podcasts, and the bill on the card is the year.

A guest, a room, and a file: Descript. The Descript vs Riverside page is the recorder comparison, if the guest is remote. If the next job is the title and the show notes, the Best AI tools for podcast show notes page is that shelf. The Podcast editing list is the rest of the editors.

Is there a free way to publish an AI-made episode?

Jellypod Free cannot render, publish, or download. The 7-day trial can export, it asks for a card, and the export is watermarked. Descript Free can edit about one media hour and export a watermarked 720p file. Neither free plan is a weekly show.

What does a 10-minute Jellypod episode cost in credits?

The pricing page says 300 credits for 10 minutes of new narration and no generated images. Starter includes 5,000 credits a month. An illustrated version on that page is 720 credits, because the stills cost 7 credits each.
