A download credit and a generation credit
Typecast lets you play a line on every plan without spending a credit. The credit is the download. Free is $0: 3,000 lifetime credits, about 5 minutes, trial voices only, 16 kHz, and you must credit Typecast. No commercial license. Basic is $5/month, or $54 billed yearly, for 30,000 credits a month, about 35 minutes, every voice, 44.1 kHz, one instant clone, and a commercial license. Plus is $19/month, or $204 billed yearly, for about 50 minutes. Pro is $29/month, or $312 billed yearly, for about 90 minutes and emotion controls. Business is $69/month, or $744 billed yearly, for about 250 minutes. The page says App Store and Play Store prices can differ.
ElevenLabs, from the October 18 listing, meters credits when you generate, not only when you download. Free is $0 for 10,000 credits a month. The pricing FAQ lists Starter at $6/month for 30,000 credits and Creator at $22/month for 121,000. On that check the cards also showed a first-month discount, Starter at $1 and Creator at $11. Annual billing is ten months' price. Paid plans roll unused credits for up to two months. Text to speech is about 1 credit a character. Dubbing is 2,000 to 10,000 credits a minute.
A narration, and a dub
A voiceover you will publish, and you want to hear drafts before you pay for a file: Typecast. Basic is the commercial license. Free is a short test, and it cannot ship on a monetized episode.
A dubbed cut, or a clone you will use across a lot of text: ElevenLabs. The same credit pool pays for the narration and the dub, and a dubbed minute spends thousands of credits. WellSaid, from the October 23 listing, is the other published-voiceover price. Free is 3 download minutes and no commercial rights. The first paid card is $19/month for 20 download minutes. The PlayHT vs WellSaid page is that comparison.
Which script should open which app
A one-minute host read you want to try before you pay: Typecast Free, if 5 lifetime minutes is enough to hear the voice, then Basic at $5 if the file has to be commercial. Count the page's minute estimate, not the credit number.
A translated episode, or a script long enough that a character meter matters: ElevenLabs, and read the dub rate before you assume a narration plan will cover it. The AI voice and dubbing list is the rest of the shelf.

Questions
Can I use a free Typecast or ElevenLabs voice on a podcast?
Typecast Free requires attribution and does not include a commercial license. The download pool is about 5 minutes, once. ElevenLabs Free, on the October 18 listing, includes 10,000 credits a month. Read that plan's terms before a sponsored read. A published ad wants a paid plan on either tool.
Which one is cheaper for a short narration?
Typecast Basic is $5/month, or $54 for the year, for about 35 download minutes and a commercial license. ElevenLabs Starter, on the October 18 listing, is $6/month for 30,000 credits. They are not the same meter. Typecast charges the download. ElevenLabs charges the generation.
Does Typecast dub a video the way ElevenLabs does?
Typecast's pricing page is a voice studio: download credits, clones, and a talking-avatar count. ElevenLabs is the listing that prices dubbing, at 2,000 to 10,000 credits a minute. Use ElevenLabs when the job is a new spoken track on footage you already have.
