Minutes, or credits on top of ten free minutes
Colossyan prices video minutes. Yearly billing was selected, and the toggle says yearly is 34% off. Starter is free, no card. The card also prints $27/mo, and the FAQ says that is the value of the free plan, not a charge. Starter includes 20 minutes a month with NEO and 0.5 minutes with NEO2. Professional is $59/month on that yearly view, plus $30/month per additional member, with 30 NEO minutes and 10 NEO2 minutes. The month-to-month dollar amount was not on the yearly view. The FAQ says an annual plan delivers the year's minutes up front, and unused minutes do not roll over.
Synthesia prices credits. Basic is $0 a month: 10 minutes of video, 3 survey responses, and 500 credits, renewing each month, with a watermark. Monthly billing shows Starter at $19/month after a $9 first month, with 1,250 credits, and Pro at $89/month after a $49 first month, with 6,000 credits. Yearly billing shows Starter at $14/month, $168 billed yearly, with 15,000 credits a year, and Pro at $59/month, $708 billed yearly, with 72,000 credits a year. The FAQ says the year's credits are available upfront on an annual plan, and unused credits do not roll over.
What a minute actually costs
Colossyan spends minutes when a video is generated. Drafts do not count. Deleting a generated video does not return the minutes. Professional is the plan that lists watermark removal. A studio custom avatar is $1,000 a year. A pack of 600 extra NEO2 minutes is $1,500 a year on Professional yearly.
Synthesia's FAQ says a typical finished minute uses about 100 credits, and more if the avatar stays on screen. The estimator says 100 credits a minute and 76 credits a dubbing minute. The FAQ says dubbing is 80 credits a minute with lip-sync and 40 without. Every plan includes 10 minutes before the extra credits. The FAQ also says Pro is sold at several credit levels. The other prices were not on the cards this check read.
The third presenter tool
HeyGen, from the October 25 listing, is the other avatar and translation tool. Free is $0, no card: 3 watermarked videos a month, up to 1 minute each. Creator is $29/month, or $24/month billed annually, with 600 credits. Pro starts at $49/month. Business is $149/month plus $20 per extra seat. Use it when the job is a translated talking head and the credit table is the one you already know.
All three look like avatar video. That is the product. A recording you already shot belongs on the Video editing list, with Descript if the cut is the transcript. The AI voice and dubbing list is the shelf if you only need the voice.

Questions
Can I make an avatar video without paying?
Colossyan Starter is free, with 20 NEO minutes a month, and it does not ask for a card. Synthesia Basic is free, with 10 minutes and 500 credits a month, and those videos carry a watermark. HeyGen Free, on the October 25 listing, is 3 watermarked videos a month, up to 1 minute each.
Why does Colossyan's free card say $27 a month?
The FAQ says the free plan gives you $27/month worth of value. Starter itself is free. Professional, on the yearly view, is $59/month. The month-to-month Professional price was not on that view.
Do unused Synthesia credits roll over?
No. The FAQ says the monthly allowance and the plan's extra credits reset each billing period. On an annual plan the year's credits are available upfront. Credits you buy separately are valid for 12 months.
