Checked November 3, 2026. AudioPen was read on audiopen.ai/pricing. Wispr Flow is quoted from its listing, last checked October 30, 2026. ChatGPT is quoted from its listing, last checked October 21, 2026.

A rewritten note, or the cursor you already have

AudioPen records a note and rewrites it in a style you pick. Free is $0, no card, with recordings up to 3 minutes and a limited number of voice-typing sessions the page does not count. Prime on the web is $33 for 3 months ($11 a month), $99 for a year ($8.25 a month, and the page says save 25%), or $159 for 2 years (shown as $6.63 a month, and the page says save 40%). The year is exactly 25% off. The two-year charge is $159, and 40% off two years of $11 would be $158.40. Prime lifts the recording to 15 minutes and removes the cap on voice typing. One account covers the web, the phone, the desktop apps, and the Chrome extension. The App Store and Google Play can charge a different price.

Wispr Flow, from the October 30 listing, types into the app that is already open. Free is $0, no card. The pricing page lists 2,000 words a week on desktop. Pro is $15 per user per month, or $12 billed annually ($144). That removes the word cap. The figures are US card list prices. The AI app for dictating a podcast script page is the path from that dictation into a script doc.

Where the words land

AudioPen keeps the note, then you send it on. Prime adds Zapier, and the free plan already lists webhooks. The rewrite is the product. You talk for up to 3 minutes on Free, and the ums come out in the style you saved. A 15-minute cold open needs Prime.

Wispr does not keep a separate note unless you were typed into one. The October 30 listing caps a free desktop week at 2,000 words, which is one short script. Pro is the plan if you also dictate show notes. It does not rewrite into a house style. That pass is still yours, or a chatbot's.

The second pass

ChatGPT, from the October 21 listing, is the rewrite after you have words. Free is $0. Plus is $20/month. AudioPen already does a style pass inside the note. Wispr hands you the raw typed draft. Either one can go into ChatGPT. Neither one records the episode.

A host who wants the ums removed from a voice memo starts in AudioPen. A host who wants the words in the script doc they already use starts in Wispr. The year on AudioPen's web price is $99. The year on Wispr Pro, from October 30, is $144. The Scriptwriting list is the rest of the draft shelf.

Questions

What is the free way to dictate one short script?

AudioPen Free records up to 3 minutes and rewrites it, with no card. Wispr Flow Free, from the October 30 listing, types 2,000 words a week on desktop, also with no card. Three minutes is a cold open. Two thousand words is a short script. They are not the same length.

Which paid plan is the smaller yearly bill?

AudioPen Prime is $99 for a year on the web. Wispr Flow Pro, from the October 30 listing, is $12 per user per month billed annually, which is $144 a year. AudioPen's two-year price is $159, and the page's 40% label does not land on that charge exactly. App store prices for AudioPen can differ from the web.

Does either one edit the episode?

No. AudioPen rewrites a spoken note. Wispr types into another app. Cutting the recording is a different job. The podcast editing list is where the script goes once you record it.
